Teachers - Parents - Students joining together
Children like everyone else experience stress within their life, affecting their ability to learn. You may notice that they are restless, withdrawn in social interactions or have a tendency to dominate. All of these may be a sign that their stress response has been switched on and has not switched off.
If a child's stress response has switched on they will display symptoms of shallow chest breathing, mental fogginess, restlessness, negative thinking and speech, defensive emotional behaviors and broken sleeping patterns. All of these affect their ability to settle, focus and learn within the classroom and also their decisions in their social interaction with others.
Through introducing MIDL mindfulness meditation softening techniques into schools we offer teachers and students, with their parents, a way of lowering stress levels, regulating emotional responses, improving mental clarity and increasing learning and creativity within the classroom.
